no app, no signup, no bank connection. teresa is a whatsapp contact: message it on your own for a private ledger, or add it to a group and it splits the bill. everyone already has whatsapp - that's the whole install.

how it works

one message per expense, in your own words, any language, no commands. the 💸 reaction means it's in the book. wrong? say "that was 350" or "delete the tacos". receipts: send the photo or the pdf and it attaches to the matching expense with a 📎.

three ways to use it

• alone - a private ledger in your own chat with teresa. free, forever.
• in a group that splits - trips, roommates, couples: it remembers who paid, splits among everyone or just the people named, and posts who owes who when the tab closes.
• in a group with a budget - one shared pot, no balances: say "no split" once, set "budget 20,000", and it warns at 80% and 100%.

the whatsapp specifics

• save the number, add it to the group. whatsapp doesn't announce bots, so teresa stays quiet until the next message in the group - then it introduces itself once and reads along.
• @mention it in a group (or reply to one of its messages) when you want an answer; in your own chat, just write. otherwise it's silent - the chat stays about the trip.
• it only reads the chats it was added to. nothing else on your phone, no permissions, no bank login. you can export or delete everything by asking.
• every chat gets a live web page - the list, totals, balances when the tab splits, csv/xlsx/pdf downloads - behind a private link you can rotate from the chat.

faq

does it need my phone number?

you message it from your whatsapp, like any contact - that's the account, no signup. the number tells teresa whose ledger is whose; it is never shared, sold or shown to anyone else in the group beyond what whatsapp already shows. details in the privacy policy.

does it work in groups?

that's the point. add teresa to the group and it logs what anyone spends, splits among the people in the tab (or just the ones named), attaches receipts and posts the who-owes-who when the tab closes. setup and examples: the guide.

is it free?

personal chats: yes, forever, no limits. groups: the first 10 expenses are free, then 3 usd a month for the whole group, however many people. no feature tiers - see pricing.

can i move to telegram later?

the books don't move: a whatsapp chat and a telegram chat are separate ledgers, and teresa has no way to link them. export first (csv, xlsx or pdf - "send me the xlsx"), then start fresh on telegram. pick one app per book.
